Iranian authorities have been silent on the fate of Kurdish journalist and long-time editor of the bilingual weekly magazine “Neda-e-Jamehe” Farhad Jahanbegi.

Kermanshah security forces arrested him on 12 November.

The security forces had also searched his house and workplace, where they confiscated some of his belongings including two desktop computers, a laptop, a mobile phone, books and drafts of his writings.

A few days ago his family members visited the headquarters of the security forces as well as Kermanshah Court looking for his whereabouts, but all efforts in vain, a KHRN source said.

Our local source also provided details about Jahanbegi political and social activities.

He has been editor in chief of the bilingual weekly magazine Neda-e-Jamehe for around 4 years.

He is a member of the board of directors of Kermanshahi Alumni Association named JADAK, a Farsi acronym for “Society of Students and Graduates of Kermanshah”, and he was in charge of the Eslam Shahr e Gharbi branch.

He is also one of the leaders of “Front for Reform”, a federation of “reformist” groups.

He is also one of the managers of the “Press House” in Kermanshah district.

The weekly magazine “Neda-e-jamehe” is the only magazine in Kurdish language printed in the Kermanshah and publish in the Kermanshah, Ilam , Sanandaj and Orumiyeh areas.
