Yarsani civil society activist Sayyid Amin Abasi Shah Ebrahimi was asked to visit the Iranian intelligence agency branch in the city of Kermanshah on 19 December and he was interrogated for his social media activities on 22 December, a local human rights source in Kermanshah told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Ebrahimi is a member of the Advisory Council of Yarsan Civil Activists, the source said.

“The Iranian intelligence police and security members present at the branch had interrogated Mr Ebrahimi regarding his social media activities and publication of articles that had focused on the general problems of the Yarsani community in the country,” the source said.

The source added: “The intelligence officers had told him that his case would remain open for further investigation and further interrogation is mostly likely to take place again, since his case has been considered ‘open’ for intelligence investigation.”
