Soleiman Abdi, a member of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Union in Saqqez, Kurdistan province, was temporarily released from Saqqez Prison on 10 April.
The activist was released on a bail of 200 million tomans – nearly 4,000 USD – after 22 days of detention.
Iranian security forces arrested Abdi at his home in Saqqez on 19 March without a court order and took him to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.
He was transferred to Saqqez Prison on 5 April after initial interrogations.
On 26 March, a group of teachers gathered outside the Ministry of Education in Saqqez to protest against Abdi’s continued detention.
They demanded his release, holding placards and chanting slogans in support of the activist.
As of yet, there is no information on the charges brought against the activist.
