The story
Arrest
Nahid Kasnazani, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Kasnazan in Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, was arrested by security forces in the village on 23 August 2026.
Security forces searched the family home and seized several personal belongings belonging to family members, including mobile phones.
She was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied access to a lawyer and family visits.
Current Status
Kasnazani is being held in the quarantine section of Sanandaj Women’s Prison (Juvenile Detention Centre).
