The story
Arrest
Zaniar Tavana, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Sardosh in Marivan, Kurdistan Province, was arrested at his family home in the village on 29 August 2026.
He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied access to a lawyer and family visits.
Current Status
Tavana is being held at the Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Sanandaj.
Notes:
Four other Kurdish citizens from Sardosh were arrested by security forces at the same time.
