Iranian border guards have shot and wounded at least six kolbars in the past few days in the Nowsud border areas of Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces in northwestern Iran.

On 12 April, border forces opened fire on a group of kolbars in Nowsud border areas in Kermanshah province, injuring at least four.

These were the 30-year-old Arman Mostafazadeh, Salam Azami from Shaho district of Paveh in Kermanshah province, Farzad Emami from Banevreh village of Paveh, and the 30-year-old Faryad Adak from the village of Zhivar in Sarvabad, Kurdistan province.

Also, on 13 April, two other kolbars named Yahya Rostamzadeh from Deh Tut village in Javanrud, Kermanshah province, and the 21-year-old Mohammad Mowloudi from Baneh, Kurdistan province, were shot in the border areas of Nowsud and Hangeh-ye Zhal in Baneh, respectively.

According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), in March, at least one kolbar was killed and 11 kolbars were injured following shootings by Iranian border forces on the country’s western borders.
