A civilian named Samad Barginia, injured in the recent protests in Piranshahr, northwestern Iran, died on 29 September after being hospitalised for a week in Khomeini Hospital in Orumiyeh due to the severity of his injuries.
Barginia’s burial ceremony was held on 29 September with the presence of security forces.
The 52-year-old civilian was the father of two children.
Anti-riot forces shot at him from a close range during the protests held against the murder of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini on the evening of 20 September.
The protestor was severely injured and was taken to Khomeini Hospital in Orumiyeh. He passed away on 29 September due to the severity of his injuries.
On 20 September, anti-riot forces also killed a 16-year-old boy named Zakariya Khiyal during the protests in this city.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) investigations indicate that the anti-riot and paramilitary Basij forces killed at least 19 protestors in Orumiyeh, Oshnavieh, Piranshahr, Divandarreh, Saqqez, Dehgolan, Eslamabad-e Gharb and Ilam.
The identities of these civilians are Farjad Darvishi, Mohsen Mohammadi, Fereydoun Mahmoudi, Reza Lotfi, Zakariya Khiyal, Foad Ghadimi, Minou Majidi, Danesh Rahnema, Sadraddin Litani, Milan Haghighati, Amin Marefat, Abdollah Mahmudpour, Mohsen Gheysari, Saeid Mohammadi, Amir Fouladi, Iman Mohammadi, Reza Shahparnia, Abdolsalam Ghader Galvani and Samad Bargikia.
These included three minors; Marefat, Mahmudpour and Khiyal who were 16 years old teenagers.
So far, no detailed information has been obtained about the handing over of Iman Mohammadi’s body to his family Eslamabad-e Gharb and his burial.
