Iranian military-security forces have killed three civilians, including a child, during public protests in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, and Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province.
A source in Sanandaj that spoke to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) said that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces wounded and detained a young man named Mohammad Lotfollahi on 26 October.
He was taken to an undisclosed location in a van while he was severely injured, said the source.
Lotfollahi’s body was buried the next morning in the presence of some family members while the security forces were also there.
According to the source, bruises were seen on Lotfolahi’s neck, but it was not yet clear whether he died due to the severity of his injuries or torture during the few hours of detention.
Another source in Sanandaj told KHRN that: “Sarina Saedi, 17 years old, was severely injured by baton blows of the military-security forces during the protests in Sanandaj in the evening of 26 October. The child was taken to Towhid Hospital in Sanandaj and died the next day after having a stroke.”
According to the source, Saedi’s body was buried under security measures in the presence of her family members.
Security agencies have been pressuring her family to state the cause of her death as suicide.
Another source in Mahabad also reported that the military-security forces shot and killed a civilian named Fereshteh Ahmadi, 32 years old and mother of two children, during the protests in Mahabad on 27 October.
The source said that Ahmadi was shot while helping some young men who were attacked by military-security agents.
