Iran executed today the death penalty of a prisoner in northwestern Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.
Sivan Hosseini, a civilian sentenced to “retribution in kind” (qisas) on charges of “premeditated murder”, has been executed in Sanandaj Central Prison.
Hosseini, 35, was arrested about four years ago on the accusation of murdering his wife.
He was a father of two from the Shiyan village of Sanandaj.

Prisoners Fakhraddin Mangournezhad and Abbas Dadvar were executed on 7 March in Mahabad Prison, West Azerbaijan Province, on charges of "premeditated murder". Prisoner Saeid Rezaei, previously sentenced to death for "premeditated murder", was today transferred to solitary confinement in Orumiyeh Central Prison, West Azerbaijan Province, for the imminent execution of his sentence.
