Iranian security forces arrested three women’s-rights activists by names of Zhina Modarres-Gorji, Avin Rasti and Leila Salehi in the past three days across Iranian Kurdistan.
Security forces arrested Modares in Safari Street in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, on 21 September.
This activist was repeatedly threatened with arrest by the security institutions recently.
The security forces called and went to the bookstore where Modarres-Gorji worked, telling her that if she joined the protests and continued her activities, she would be arrested.
The women’s-rights activist Rasti was also arrested on 19 September in Marivan, Kurdistan province, and was taken to an unknown location.
In addition, on 20 September, security forces arrested Salehi at her home after she took part in the protest rallies held over the killing of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini.
In recent days, as protest rallies against the government murder of Amini continue and spread, numerous political and civil rights activists have been summoned, threatened and arrested in various cities of Kurdistan and Iran.
Five woman activists by the names of Faranak Rafiei, Baran Saedi, Mahrou Hedayati, Azadeh Jamaati and Bahar Zangiband are among those arrested in Sanandaj recently.
