Iranian security forces killed at least four civilians during public protests in Sanandaj, Kermanshah and Bukan, western Iran, on 12 October.

Local businesses and shop owners were closed yesterday in Sanandaj, Marivan, Baneh, Bukan, Mahabad, Saqqez, Kamyaran, Dehgolan, Divandarreh and some neighbourhoods of Kermanshah after a call for widespread protests and strikes was published.

Simultaneously with the protests, the anti-riot forces, the paramilitary Basij forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the plainclothes of the Ministry of Intelligence were deployed in the main squares, streets and even the neighbourhoods of different cities.

These forces created an atmosphere of terror with military manoeuvres.

Large-scale protests were held last night in Orumiyeh, Ilam, Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Piranshahr, Saqqez, Divandarreh, Dehgolan and Bukan.

During these protests, anti-riot and Basij forces shot and killed at least four civilians named Kamal Feqhi, Mohammad Azizi, Sina Naderi and Amin Sayyadi in Sanandaj, Kermanshah and Bukan.

Also, more than 75 other people were injured by shotguns and war weapons. At least one injured protestor is in a coma.

Since the beginning of the public protests against the government’s killing of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, the anti-riot and Basij forces have killed 35 protesters, including at least five children, in the cities of Orumiyeh, Oshnavieh, Piranshahr, Divandarreh, Saqqez, Sanandaj, Marivan, Kermanshah, Eslamabad-e Gharb, Ilam, Bukan, Qazvin, Varamin and Karaj.

An eyewitness in the Darreh Drezh neighbourhood of Kermanshah spoke to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) and said: “Last night after the protests started in Darreh Drezh and Eslamiyeh neighbourhoods of Kermanshah, the anti-riot forces and Basij forces of the IRGC opened fire on the protestors. Sina Naderi and Amin Sayyadi were killed by security forces’ bullets.”

The source who witnessed the killing of Sina Naderi, said that Basij forces had directly shot the protestor from behind.

Although some sources have reported that these two protesters were children, due to the disruption in the internet lines in the region, the KRHN has not yet obtained accurate and reliable information about the age of the two killed protesters.

Another one of the protestors killed in last night’s protests was Aziz Moradi, a resident of Naysar town on the outskirts of Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.

Moradi, who was a restaurant owner, was shot by the security forces from a close range during the protests in Naysar.

In addition, an eyewitness in Bukan said that security forces shot a civilian by the name of Kamal Feqhi, who was on the roof of his house during the protests last night.

Faghihi died due to the severity of his injuries after being taken to the city hospital.

The bodies of these people have not yet been handed over to their families.

Security agencies have threatened the families over their possible communications with the media and human rights organisations.

Also, sources of the KHRN in the town of Eslamabad-e Gharb in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province, reported that IRGC drones were patrolling over the locations of the protests and anti-riot forces were shooting at the protesters.

Large-scale protest rallies were also held in Mahabad, Divandarreh and Bukan last night. The security forces attacked the protestors in these cities, too.
