Iran has imprisoned three Kurdish civilians, accusing two of them of “assembly and collusion” and “membership in a Kurdish opposition group”, and the other of “propaganda against the state”, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

The Islamic Revolutionary Court of Oshnavieh sentenced Kurdish civilians Rahim Rafati and Rahman Tabesh to four years and one month in prison each, on alleged charges of “assembly and collusion” and “membership in a Kurdish opposition group”. However, according to the Article 134 of the Law on Consolidation of Sentences, three years and seven months of the sentences are enforceable.

The two citizens, who come from Oshnavieh, had been arrested by security forces on 5 July 2020 and were released on bail in late September.

Separately, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Piranshahr sentenced Zaher Pasopish (Joula), a Kurdish civilian from Piranshahr, to three months in prison for allegedly “propagating against the state”. This sentence was then commuted to 45 days in prison.

Pasopish had been arrested by security forces in Piranshahr on 17 November 2020 and was released on bail on 9 December, after the completion of his interrogation.
The three prisoners were taken to the prison of Naqadeh.
