A woman named Shiler Rasouli, who had thrown herself from a two-story building to escape the attack of a man in Marivan, Kurdistan province, on 3 September, lost her life today.

Reportedly, after the news about Rasouli’s death was published, a group of women held rallies to protest against the escalation of violence against women and the lack of women’s safety in society.

On 3 September, the attacker named G. Gh. invited Rasouli to his house on the pretext that his sick wife needed help.

Realising that the man would attack her, Rasouli threw herself from the two-story building. She was admitted to a hospital in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.

Rasouli, 36, was the mother of two children.

During the past few days, a group of women and women’s rights activists gathered in front of the justice department in Marivan, protesting against the escalation of violence against women and the lack of safety for women.
