Iranian military-security forces killed two Kurdish civilians named Motalleb Saeid Peyro and Fereydoun Faraji and injured several others during public protests in Baneh, Kurdistan province, on 27 October.
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces shot the protesters in the streets of the city, as a result of which Motalleb Saeid Peyro and Fereydoun Faraji, 28 years old and from Saqqez, were killed”, said a source to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
The source added that Peyro’s body had been handed over to the family, but Faraji’s body had not been returned to his family yet.
The source also said that the IRGC forces played the main role in yesterday’s suppression of protesters in Baneh.
Nationwide protests broke out in Iran after a 22-year-old Kurdish woman named Mahsa (Zhina) Amini died on 16 September after she was hospitalised following her arrest and torture by the morality police in Tehran.
Amini was arrested on 13 September for allegedly violating hijab rules and was beaten by the morality police on the way to a detention facility.
