A worker named Vossein Sabouri, who had an accident while working in Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, died in one of the city’s hospitals on 15 June.

Sabouri had gone from Kamyaran, Iran’s Kurdistan province, to Sulaymaniyah to find work. However, as he could not find a job in the city, he had to work as a street peddler.

The worker’s body was transferred to the village of Gazer Khani in Kamyaran on 15 June and was buried there.

Last year, at least 42 Kurdish workers lost their lives in workplace accidents. Eight of these took place in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
