A Kurdish civilian named Kaveh Soleimanpour was arrested on 24 July after being summoned to the Enforcement of Judgments Office of the Mahabad court and was sent to the city prison to serve a six-month imprisonment sentence.
Some time ago, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province, sentenced the civilian to six months in prison on charges of “acting against national security” through collaboration with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI).
Security forces arrested Soleimanpour in Mahabad on 1 August 2021 and took him to the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province.
He was temporarily released on bail on 12 October 2021 after 70 days in detention.
