The fate of detained Kurdish student Ashkan Omar-Jouyi remains unknown since his arrest on 22 January in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, north-western Iran.
Omar-Houyi, who comes from Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province, studies Kurdish language and literature at the University of Kurdistan in Sanandaj.
The young man was arrested without an arrest warrant.
Until now, no information has been provided about his whereabouts and the charges brought against him.
