Detained civilians Hossein Bapirvand, Azim Yadegari and Farshad Ayini were transferred from the temporary detention facility of Ilam Prison to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Dehloran, Ilam province, on the fourth day of their hunger strike on 19 April.
Another hunger-striking civilian Saadollah Ayini remains detained at the temporary detention facility of Ilam Prison.
A group of families and relatives of the four civilians gathered before the governorate of Dehloran for the second consecutive day on 19 April, demanding the unconditional release of the civilians.
On 14 February, security forces arrested the four civilians in Dehloran and took them to the intelligence ministry’s detention facility in Ilam.
They were physically tortured in the detention centre to make forced “confessions”.
After initial interrogations, they were transferred to the temporary detention facility of Ilam Prison.
On 19 March, Saadollah Ayini attempted suicide at the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence in Ilam due to pressures from security interrogators for forced “confessions”.
The four detainees have been denied the right to legal counsel since their arrest.
As of yet, there is no information on the charges brought against them.
