Detained civilian Sherko Roshani’s transfer from the prison of Marivan, Kurdistan province, to the detention facility of the Ministry of Intelligence on 19 April has raised concerns over his situation.
Roshani, who was arrested by security forces on 11 December 2022, was taken to the city prison in early April after initial interrogations at the intelligence ministry’s detention centre.
The pressure from security interrogators and his return to the intelligence ministry as his family was following the status of his release on bail, has raised worries about his situation.
Since his arrest, the civilian was subjected to physical and mental torture in the detention centres of the Ministry of Intelligence in Marivan and Sanandaj to make forced “confessions”.
Roshani has been denied access to legal counsel since his arrest.
