Civilians Fakhrieh Omidi and Batoul Omidi were sent to the women’s quarantine ward of the Ilam Central Prison on a temporary detention order on 12 September.
The two sisters, who were recently arrested by security forces in Ilam, Ilam Province, were transferred to prison after being charged with “propaganda against the state”.
According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), a total of 46 Kurdish civilians and activists were arrested by security forces in Marivan, Saqqez, Divandarreh, Baneh, Bukan and Oshnavieh this week alone.
