Khosrow Fathi, the son of Habibollah Fathi, a victim of the Jin Jiyan Azadi (Woman Life Freedom in Kurdish) uprising, was released from prison in Divandarreh, Kurdistan province, on 2 October on bail of 7 billion rials – nearly 14,000 USD – after spending 18 days in detention.
Fathi was arrested in Divandarreh on 15 September by agents of the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
He was then transferred to the military-security organisation’s Shahramfar detention centre in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.
After initial interrogation, Fathi was transferred from the Shahramfar detention centre to Divandarreh prison.
Throughout his detention, the civilian was denied access to legal counsel and prevented from meeting with his family.
There is no information about the charges brought against him.
Habibollah Fathi, a 62-year-old resident of Divandarreh, was killed by gunfire from military-security forces during the anti-government protests in Divandarreh on 19 November 2022.
