Kurdish civilian Bahman Naderi faced his first trial on 28 October at Branch One of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Kermanshah, Kermanshah Province, on charges of “propaganda against the state”.

The hearing took place without legal representation and the court has scheduled the next hearing for 6 November, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

Naderi was arrested by agents of the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Kermanshah on 12 September, on the eve of the anti-government uprising of Women Life Freedom.

After a week in detention, he was provisionally released on bail amounting to 5 billion rials – nearly 10,000 USD.

His arrest is attributed to his activities on social media and a call to participate in commemorating the Women Life Freedom uprising.
