Kurdish civilian Mohammad (Soran) Moradkhani was released on bail from Sanandaj Central Prison on 15 November after 38 days in detention.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Moradkhani was transferred from the Ministry of Intelligence’s detention centre in Sanandaj to the city’s prison on 13 November after completing his interrogation.

On 15 November, he was temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison on bail of 20 billion rials – nearly 40,000 USD.

Moradkhani, originally from Saqqez in Kurdistan Province and a resident of Sanandaj, was arrested by security forces in Sanandaj on 8 October without a judicial warrant and taken to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre.

Throughout his detention, Moradkhani has been denied the right to legal representation and family visits.

There is no information about the charges brought against him.
