Asrin Mohammadi, the sister of Shahriyar Mohammadi, a protester killed by Iranian forces during anti-government uprising of Women Life Freedom in Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by security forces on the eve of the anniversary of her brother’s killing.
Security forces arrested Mohammadi without a judicial warrant at a banner printing shop in Bukan and took her to an undisclosed location.
The charges against the civilian and the location of her detention remain unknown.
Shahriyar Mohammadi was injured by gunfire from the military-security forces during anti-government protests in Bukan on 18 November 2022. He died in hospital on the same day due to the severity of his injuries.
