Iranian border guards shot dead Jalal Sohrabi, a 40-year-old kolbar, in the Sourkev region of Baneh, Kurdistan Province, on 2 May, marking the second such incident within 24 hours.
Sohrabi, a father of two from the village of Tajan in Baneh, was shot when border guards opened fire on a group of kolbars at close range and without warning, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
He had previously been injured by border guards’ gunfire last year.
Separately, on 1 May, another kolbar, Hemin Ahmadi, 45, was fatally shot by border guards in the Bastam border area of Saqqez, Kurdistan Province.
