Zahra Sajedinia, a Kurdish woman from Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for “propaganda against the state”.

She was sentenced by Branch 101 of the Second Criminal Court in Bukan following a trial held in late September, and was informed of the verdict on 29 September.

Sajedinia was arrested on 31 July after being summoned to the local office of the Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to the Ministry’s detention facility in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province, where she was held for several days.

The Kurdish civilian was then released on bail from Orumiyeh Central Prison.
