Iran executed prisoners Sohrab Ahmadpour, Majid Jamshidi, Rahim Barin and Jamal Naboureh on drug and murder related charges on 18 December, in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, Alborz Province, and Mahabad Prison in West Azerbaijan Province.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Ahmadpour and Jamshidi were transferred to solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison on 17 December in preparation for their execution.

Ahmadpour, aged 70 and from Kuhdasht, Lorestan Province, and Jamshidi, from Nurabad, Lorestan Province, were arrested several years ago in separate drug trafficking cases and subsequently sentenced to death.

At the same time, Barin and Naboureh, both from Mahabad, were executed in Mahabad Prison on charges of “premeditated murder”.

Barin, who was arrested in 2005, was sentenced to death for the alleged murder of a government official, while Naboureh was arrested about two years ago in a separate case and both were sentenced to death.
