Seven Kurdish civil rights and labour activists have been temporarily released on bail after being summoned to Branch Two of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.

The individuals – Susan Razani, Seyyed Khaled Hosseini, Eghbal Shabani, Fardin Miraki, Farshid Abdollahi, Sheys Amani, and Jamal Asadi – appeared before the prosecutor on 5 January, following a summons issued on 3 January.

According to investigator Mehran Ramazani, the activists face charges of “disturbing public opinion” and “propaganda against the state”.

Their participation in the funeral of a dadkhah mother (a Persian term used for victims’ relatives and survivors seeking truth and justice) in Sanandaj was cited as evidence for these accusations.

Among those detained is Farshid Abdollahi, the father of Houman Abdollahi, a protester killed during the anti-government Women, Life, Freedom uprising.
