Abdollah Rezaei, a teachers’ union activist from Harsin, Kermanshah Province, has been temporarily released on bail after being formally charged in connection with his union activities.

Rezaei was summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Harsin after receiving an official summons on 5 March.

On 10 March, he appeared before the prosecutor’s office, where Younes Abbasi, the prosecutor of Harsin, formally charged him with “propaganda against the state” for allegedly organising illegal gatherings, and was later released on bail of 10 billion rials (nearly 11,000 USD).

Rezaei has been repeatedly summoned and arrested in recent years by security agencies over his union-related activities.
