Four Kurdish civilians from Kamyaran, Kurdistan Province, Mohammad-Mirza Rahmani, Musa Tabei, Jabbar Ebrahimi and Hemin Ebrahimi, have been provisionally released on bail from Sanandaj Central Prison.

On 13 March, Rahmani and Tabei were released on bail of three billion rials (nearly 3,500 USD).

On 15 March, Jabbar Ebrahimi and Hemin Ebrahimi were also released on bail of three billion rials after spending 18 days in detention.

The four individuals were arrested on 26 February by the Ministry of Intelligence forces without a warrant.

After initial interrogation, they were transferred from the Ministry’s detention centre in Sanandaj to the city prison on 13 March.

During their detention, they were denied access to legal representation and family visits.

Rahmani was previously arrested by Ministry of Intelligence forces on 22 December 2021 and detained for three weeks for attending and speaking at the memorial service for Heidar Ghorbani, a Kurdish political prisoner executed by the Iranian authorities.

In April 2022, Branch 101 of the Criminal Court of Kamyaran sentenced Rahmani to 91 days in prison on charges of “propaganda in favour of groups opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran”.
