Iranian border guards shot and wounded Kurdish tradesman Ayran Karami and his relatives Golaleh Mohammadi and Mahmoud Karami on 14 March near the village of Daraki in Marivan, Kurdistan Province.

Karami was driving near the village of Daraki at night when border forces opened fire on his vehicle at close range, seriously injuring him with dozens of shotgun pellets, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

Mohammadi, his brother’s wife, and Mahmoud Karami, his uncle, were also shot as they approached the scene to help him.

The three were taken to Bu-Ali Hospital in Marivan, where their condition has been described as critical.
