Security forces arrested the Kurdish civilians Armin Khoda-Moradi and Mohammad Houshmand in Sanandaj and Marivan in Kurdistan Province, in recent days.
On 16 May, Khoda-Moradi was arrested at his home in Sanandaj and taken to a Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in the city.
In a separate incident, Houshmand, a civil rights activist and former village chief of Darreh Tefi in Marivan, was arrested in the early hours of 17 May, by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The agents stormed the activist’s home without a warrant and took him to an undisclosed location, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
Houshmand has previously been summoned and interrogated several times by security agencies over the past few years.
