The fate of the Kurdish brothers Milad and Hadi Rahimi, who were arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, on 19 June, remains unknown.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Milad Rahimi (22) and Hadi Rahimi (33) were beaten and arrested during a raid on their family home in the Fakhr Razi neighbourhood of Saqqez.

Their mother, who has a visual impairment, reportedly had a heart attack as a result of the raid and was later admitted to Shafa Hospital in the city.

When the family followed up with the Ministry of Intelligence offices in Saqqez and Sanandaj, they were informed that the brothers had been transferred to Tehran. However, the Ministry’s Tehran office denied any knowledge of their whereabouts.

The arrests come amid a new wave of detentions targeting Kurdish activists and civilians in several cities, following Israel’s recent attack on Iran. The crackdown has continued over the past two weeks.
