Nasser Zomorrodi, a 38-year-old man from Ilam, Ilam Province, was arrested on 4 July after being summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to a detention facility operated by the agency in the city.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Zomorrodi appeared before Branch 7 of Ilam’s Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office on 7 July, where he was formally charged with “propaganda against the state”, “insulting sanctities”, “spreading false information”, and “insulting the leader”.
He has been denied access to legal representation and contact with his family since the time of his arrest.
