Iranian border forces have shot and killed Payam Ahmadi, a young kolbar, in the Hanjiran border region of Marivan, Kurdistan Province.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that on 15 July, a group of kolbars were fired upon without warning and at close range by Iranian border guards. Ahmadi, who was among them, was killed instantly.
Due to the intensity of the gunfire and the heavy security presence in the area, local residents could only recover his body the following day and transferred it to the Forensic Medicine Department in Marivan.
Ahmadi, who was from the village of Barqaru in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, was the father of one child.
