Iranian border forces have shot and killed two kolbars in recent days in the border areas of Baneh and Marivan in Kurdistan Province.

On 25 July, border guards opened fire on a group of kolbars in the Seyranband border area of Baneh, killing Barzan Salehi.

Three days later, on 28 July, border forces targeted another group of kolbars in the Hanjiran border area of Marivan, fatally shooting Hemin Danesh.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that both shootings were carried out at close range and without prior warning.

Salehi, 38, was a father of three from Baneh, while Danesh, 26, was a father of one from Marivan.

Previously, KHRN reported that border forces also killed Amin Gardi on 23 July in the border region of Sarvabad, Kurdistan Province. With these latest incidents, the number of kolbars killed by Iranian forces in the past week has risen to three.
