Iranian authorities have executed three men from Kuhdasht, Lorestan Province, who had been convicted of “enmity against God” (moharebeh) through armed robbery, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
Amir Reza Ghobadi, Majid Hatami, and Sajjad Hatami were executed at dawn on 15 October in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, Alborz Province.
The three men had been transferred from Ward 3 to solitary confinement in the days prior to their execution.
Mizan News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, reported the executions and published a video of the prisoners’ “confessions”, without disclosing the location of the executions.
According to Mizan, the men were accused of carrying out 19 armed robberies in different areas of Tehran. They were identified and arrested in May 2024 by the Criminal Investigation Police in Shahriar, Savojbolagh, and Khorramabad.
The judiciary charged them with “participation in 19 counts of moharebeh by brandishing firearms at residents”, “participation in serial armed robberies using firearms”, and “threatening household members with firearms”, among other offences.
Their death sentences were later upheld by the Supreme Court.
