Zabeteddin (Adel) Jangjou, a man sentenced to death for drug-related offences, has been executed in Orumiyeh Central Prison, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

Jangjou was moved to solitary confinement on 13 November in preparation for his execution, which took place at dawn the following day.

Originally from the village of Espi Darreh in Salmas, West Azerbaijan Province, Jangjou had been living in Orumiyeh, also in West Azerbaijan Province, when he was arrested several years earlier and sentenced to death on drug-related charges.
