Security forces have arrested six men in Abdanan and Bukan, bringing the total number of Kurdish citizens detained in the recent wave of arrests to 45.
Following their arrest, all six were taken to undisclosed locations.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that on 15 December, four young men from Abdanan in Ilam Province – Hossein Hajian, Amir Ali Heydari, Soheyl Pakarzan and Ilya Imani – were arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents.
The arrests were carried out without warrants, and no information has since been provided about their whereabouts or condition.
At the same time, two other Kurdish citizens, Ebrahim Mardani and Rasoul Yadyar, were detained by security forces in Bukan and the nearby village of Nachit in West Azerbaijan Province.
Mardani had previously been arrested twice, in July 2019 and May 2025, and was released temporarily on bail after spending several weeks in custody each time.
KHRN’s data indicates that, over the past two weeks, the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence have arrested at least 45 Kurdish citizens and activists across Marivan, Bukan, Orumiyeh, Piranshahr, Mashhad, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Oshnavieh, Abdanan and Naqadeh.
All detainees are being held without access to legal counsel or contact with their families.
KHRN has learned that while two individuals were transferred to Mahabad Prison in recent days, the whereabouts and condition of most of those detained remain unknown.
