Five Kurdish citizens have been arrested by security forces in Bukan, Orumiyeh, Piranshahr, Ilam, and Bukan in recent days, with all detentions carried out without judicial warrants being presented.
Seyyed Ali Ghoreishi, a well-known artist in Kurdish folk and traditional music from Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested during a raid on his family home on the evening of 11 May, and was taken to an undisclosed location.
On 13 May, Forouzan Nojavaan, an English language teacher from Orumiyeh in West Azerbaijan Province; Shahram Pasopish, from the village of Chianeh in Piranshahr in West Azerbaijan Province; and Mohammad-Reza Faryadi, from Sarableh in Ilam Province, were all arrested in their respective cities, and taken to undisclosed locations.
On 14 May, Sabah Bivareh, a 23-year-old from the village of Kalehkin in Piranshahr, was arrested at his family home.
