Motalleb Kheybari, a Kurdish man from Baneh, Kurdistan Province, was killed today by Iranian border guard forces while collecting tree sap in the border areas of the county.
“This citizen had gone today, 11 June 2026, to the Choman border areas in Baneh county to collect the sweet sap of Zagros trees, known locally as ‘gazo’. Border guard forces stationed near the village of Bardeh Rash shot him in the head from close range without prior warning,” an informed source said.
The source added that Kheybari died immediately after being shot and that his body was transferred to Salahaddin Ayoubi Hospital in Baneh.
Kheybari was a 38-year-old father of two and a resident of the village of Saleh in Baneh.
