Kurdish artist Amir Sobhani remains detained in Kermanshah Central Prison nearly one month after his arrest, with his family denied telephone contact and visits.
Information obtained confirms that Sobhani made several brief telephone calls to his family during the first days of his detention and told them that he was being held in Kermanshah Central Prison (Dizel Abad Prison).
In recent weeks, his family have visited the prison and judicial authorities in Kermanshah to seek information about him.
However, they were told that his detention order had been extended and that telephone calls and family visits had been prohibited until further notice.
No information has so far been released about the charges brought against him.
Security forces arrested Sobhani without a warrant on 18 May, after raiding his family home in Javanrud.
When his family approached the judicial authorities, they were told that he had been transferred to Kermanshah Central Prison under a 10-day detention order.
The artist has previously been summoned and detained by security agencies.
