Security forces have arrested Kurdish citizen Ashkan Abkhou and Kurdish cultural activist Ali Shokri in Saqqez and Bukan, taking them to undisclosed locations.
Information obtained confirms that Ministry of Intelligence forces arrested Abkhou at his workplace, a barber’s shop in Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, on 15 June without presenting a judicial warrant.
A day later, Ministry forces raided Shokri’s workplace in Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, and arrested him without a warrant.
Despite repeated inquiries and visits by their families to security agencies and judicial authorities, officials have provided no information about the reasons for the arrests or any charges brought against the two men.
Their places of detention and current conditions remain unknown.
