Arman Ebrahimi, a Kurdish citizen from Oshnavieh, West Azerbaijan Province, has been sent to Orumiyeh Central Prison to serve a one-year sentence.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Ebrahimi was summoned in recent days to the Enforcement of Judgements Office of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Oshnavieh and subsequently taken to prison.
He is currently being held in the ward for political prisoners in Orumiyeh Central Prison.
Ministry of Intelligence forces arrested Ebrahimi in Oshnavieh in July 2025 and interrogated him for 12 days at the ministry’s detention facility in Orumiyeh.
He was then transferred to Oshnavieh Prison and temporarily released on bail six days later.
Several months after his release, a court in Oshnavieh sentenced him to one year in prison on charges of “acting against national security” through membership of a Kurdish opposition party.
Branch Two of the West Azerbaijan Provincial Court of Appeal subsequently upheld the sentence in full.
