The fate of Nazanin Hosseinpour, a 34-year-old Kurdish woman from the village of Shinabad in Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province, remains unknown four days after her arrest by Ministry of Intelligence forces.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Hosseinpour was arrested on 16 August after being summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence office in Piranshahr and was taken to an undisclosed location.

Since her arrest, she has been denied access to a lawyer, family visits and telephone contact with her family.

Despite repeated enquiries by her family about her condition, security and judicial authorities have refused to respond or provide any information.

Hosseinpour is the mother of two young children, and her husband is seriously ill with cancer.

Her father is reportedly a member of a Kurdish opposition party based outside Iran.
