Ministry of Intelligence forces have arrested Karim Rasouli, a Kurdish man and member of the council of Egriqash village in Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that intelligence forces arrested Rasouli without a warrant on a street in Mahabad on 18 August.
At the time of writing, no information was available regarding the reason for his arrest or the charges brought against him.
Despite his family’s enquiries regarding his situation, the security and judicial authorities continue to refuse to respond or provide any information.
Since 23 July, Ministry of Intelligence and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organisation forces have arrested at least 31 Kurdish citizens in Bukan, Mahabad, Oshnavieh, Orumiyeh, Marivan, Sanandaj, Kamyaran and Piranshahr, according to figures compiled by KHRN.
