Sara Rashidi Kachalanlou, a 33-year-old Kurdish woman from Maku, West Azerbaijan Province, has been forcibly disappeared by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organisation for more than seven months.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that IRGC intelligence forces arrested Rashidi Kachalanlou without a warrant on 11 January, during that month’s protests, while she was in a car near Kermanshah.
She was subsequently transferred to the Nabi Akram IRGC Intelligence Organisation detention facility in Naft Square, Kermanshah. No information has since emerged about her fate.
Her family have repeatedly approached security agencies and judicial authorities in Kermanshah in recent months, but have received no clear response.
Her prolonged enforced disappearance has raised serious concerns about her condition and health.
In recent years, KHRN has documented the enforced disappearances of three other Kurdish citizens – Edris Feqhi, Osman Mameh and Mohsen Ghaderi – by security forces in Bukan and Baneh. Several years later, their fates still remain unknown.
