Security forces have arrested three members of a family from Divandarreh, Kurdistan Province – Maryam Moradian, Sirous Hamidi and their 16-year-old child, Kurdia Hamidi – and transferred them to prisons in Sanandaj, the provincial capital.
Kurdia Hamidi was released after four days, but her parents remain in detention.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that security forces arrested the three without a warrant in a village in Divandarreh on 14 August.
Moradian and Kurdia Hamidi were transferred to Sanandaj Women’s Prison (Juvenile Detention Centre), while Sirous Hamidi was taken to Sanandaj Central Prison.
Kurdia Hamidi was held alongside her mother in solitary confinement until her release.
Moradian and Sirous Hamidi remain in solitary confinement and have been denied access to a lawyer and family visits.
At the time of writing, no information was available regarding the reasons for the arrests or the charges brought against them.
