Zeynab Jalalian, Verisheh Moradi, Sakineh Parvaneh and Motalleb Ahmadian, four Kurdish political prisoners held in Evin and Yazd prisons, have announced that they will go on hunger strike on 16 September in support of a general strike in Kurdistan.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that in a joint message, the prisoners described striking as “the most civil means of expressing protest” and said they would join the general strike marking the fourth anniversary of the state killing of Jina Amini and the “Women, Life, Freedom” uprising.
The Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan has called for the general strike to take place across Kurdistan on 16 September.
