Security forces have arrested at least eight Kurdish citizens in Orumiyeh, Oshnavieh, Mahabad and Divandarreh between 13 and 17 September, taking them to undisclosed locations as the wave of arrests of Kurdish citizens continues.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Ministry of Intelligence forces in Orumiyeh arrested Behdar Asadi, Vahed Shabani and Saleh Darboubeh-Chichak, all from the village of Gisian in Orumiyeh County, in the early hours of 17 September.
On 16 September, Ministry of Intelligence forces in Orumiyeh also arrested Farhang Dehghan, from the village of Dizaj, and Majid Ebtehaj, from the village of Ziveh, both in Orumiyeh County.
Security forces arrested Mehran Ebrahimzadeh, from Mahabad, and Khaleq Haghighat-Khah, from the village of Siawan in Oshnavieh County, on 15 September.
On 13 September, officers from the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) raided the workplace of Mohammad Mohammadzadeh, a Kurdish citizen from Divandarreh, and arrested him.
All eight were arrested without being shown judicial warrants.
Despite their families’ visits and enquiries about their condition and whereabouts, security and judicial authorities continue to refuse to provide answers or any explanation about their situation.
